how do you know whether an account is a cash reciepts journal

Thanks for visiting my site!

I'm afraid I don't quite understand your question, but I'll give it a try. A Cash Receipts Journal is a book or a form or a spreadsheet where you record all of the cash received into your business. It is basically the details of all your bank deposits to your business checking account.

The "accounts" that you use in a Cash Receipts Journal are from your basic Chart of Accounts, and include your Cash account, your Accounts Receivable account, and your Sales account or accounts if you have more than one.

If this hasn't answered your question, please try again. I do want to help.

Thanks again for visiting my site, Portia!
